Open Question: Why are cyclists treated so softly?

As a car driver I ahve had to pass a test of competency, my car has an annual MOT, it is raod taxed and insured to make it road legal. Yet it is legal to take a bike onto the roads, or in Britain`s case, the pavements without the rider having to have any proof of competency, roadworthiness of his vehicle or insurance should he injure someone. Well you look guys last week I hired a van and was stopped at lights. Up my nearside came a girl on a bike. I could look she had no intention of stopping at the lights. She couldn`t look if the green man was on, if someone was crossing in front of my van and from her point of view she couldn`t look the junction until she was in it.

Open Question: What size motobike can I ride on a provisional license? ?

Hi, Im 26 need a motobike for getting to work and short trips (30miles max) I only have a prov. license and a limited budget. m 5ft8 and aprox 11.5st. Also have a very limited budget!!! (about £600) Am I only allowed upto a 50cc on a CBT or can I go higher without taking a higher test than a CBT? Also anyone got any suggestions for a suitable bike - I DONT want a moped!!! Open Question: suzuki 650sv dosen't want to restart after running about 45 or 30 mins.?

My bike does this every so often. Doesn't matter dry or wet weather. Starts always fine on first time. But after riding for a while. If I cease the engine for any reason. it wont start again... Starter motor turning strong, but acting like there is no petrol in the tank and it wont start. I have to wait few hours before it starts again. Please what's going on?

Open Question: if u run a yellow light and hit a pedestrian who is jaywalking.. who is at fault?

today i was on my way home from work and i ran a yellow light at 50 mph.. there was a pedestrian who decided that he would cross the road before the walk signal came on because according to him.. he was in a rush to receive to the other side and smoke a "phat" one.. i braked and he ended up with a few bruises on his knees. half of his bike was also totalled. So is it my fault or his fault? he was jaywalking and when i hit him.. the light had JUST turned red.. my fiance ended up coming to the rescue and paying him 250 for the bike. A couple of witnesses also said that they saw him almost receive hit by another semi-truck a couple minutes before i came by. in my honest opinion i think this guy is out for money.. what do u think?

Open Question: extreme fitness and visa?

Is there any issues with extreme fitness and visa? I recently heard that visa has decided to have nothing to do with them because of so many bad reports. I went to extreme for 3months, but after a bike accident, I haven't been back for 6months. So far they haven't taken anything from my account. 9months into my contract. Open Question: What is your definition of a 'bad' feminist?

When I'm out on my bike, I often look other cyclists cutting in front of driver, cycling across junctions on a red light, skipping from the pavement to the road, terrorising both drivers and pedestrians and I hate it - bad cyclists give us every a bad name! So in a similar vein - what is your definition of a 'bad' feminist? Here are a few I thought of to receive the ball rolling... Someone who secretly thinks women ARE superior and everything would be much better if women were just in charge. Someone who is more interested in name-calling, ranting and mud-slinging than actually arguing their point or discussing anything with an open mind. Someone who relies on sleepy arguments and stereotypes about men and women, despite supposedly believing in equality. What else can you think of? :-)

Open Question: I'm in a new relationship and I need help, I think I'm screwing up :S PLEASE HELP?

Okay so my current boyfriend and I both broke up with our exs around 3 months ago. I do like him A LOT, I don't adore him yet, and it will take time for me to open up, he on the other hand does adore me already. I'm pretty shy when I'm around him. I think he tried making some moves on me where I screwed up. Like, he's said he loves me and I've been silent because I can't say it back to him yet =/ and we like have texting sprees from like across the room. He'll arrive to meet me below my building, even if its for say 2 minutes! Oh, the other day we were hanging out with friends and he was totally checking me out, and he had this mirror in his hand, and he goes 'i feel like kissing something' and is staring directly at me, and then he kisses his mirror and stares at me, and I blush and turn my head the other side..around 10 mins after that he's sitting on his bike checking me out again when he randomly goes 'guys can you give us a few minutes alone' and I freaked out, so I go 'nooo' which pissed him very much. I was wrong, I know, but I did what my instinct said at that time. Do you think he wanted to kiss me? The next day he told my pal that he made a move and I screwed up and how many times can you give me these moves.. ;S Now lately he's not making any moves, and honestly, I have to say now I have realized I am starting to adore him, and I am ready to respond to him.. but he's not made a move lately..and I don't know why. Should I make a tiny hint? I'm VERY shy around him still.. we've not held hands yet. (we're just completing a month) Anyway.. what should I do? What hint can I give him? My pal said that I should stand next to him so it will give him the feeling that I'm 'his' because whenever we hang I always stand opposite him. Anyway, any tiny hints I could give? Open Question: Selling a moped for an XBOX360?

My dad gave me an 07 Honda Metropolitan last year and it has about 6,000 miles on it. I really want an XBOX360 because I want to play the new Fallout 3 game. Not only that I want to buy the Oblivion game and also the Deep Space game. I dont have any money in my bank account and I am honestly quite broke at the moment. I found a couple of things I can sell and I think the moped could receive me atleast $500. That would be enough money for the console which I can receive for about $250. And 3 games. Open Question: What should i exercise to lose weight and NOT GAIN ANY MUSCLE AT ALL?

i'm 5'7 and i weigh 154 lbs. I've always been a chubby kid and always fighted with my extra pounds. In the past 4 months, i've lost 22 lbs and it's great. I went to a nutritionist which took care of my diet. I would like to lose some 22 more pounds but it's difficult to continue the diet because i started working a full time job. My nutritionist told me not to exercise (just walk and ride the bike) because otherwise, i would gain muscle and i'd still look fat. I would like to receive your opinion on this and tell me if there's anything i could do to lose weight faster by exercising and NOT GAIN MUSCLE at every! ps. she even forbid me to use the "orbitrek" machine wich i have at home, with the same excuse "u may gain muscle and then it would be much harder for you to slim down".

Open Question: what should I get a yzf250 2002 or a kxf250 2004?

The 2002 has a 06 crank caseing and every 06 pistons and rings and the 04 kawasaki has every original but it has done about 160 hours and has had 1 full rebuild and the 2002 has had 1 full rebuild 10 hours ago and has done about the same hours as the kxf. iv just reached 18 and i want to move from a 50cc moped to a 125 cc geared bike. Im confident on the moped however i have no experience of gears and im sure a 125 bike is going to be a lot heaver than my ped. Are there any courses available that alow people to learn how to use gears and receive used to the weight of a bike when they are moving on from a moped?

My bf has this pal (or should I say this guy who's just there every the time) and he and his dad lives w my bf aunt where my bf lives.. bcuz he's aunt allowed them to... So this guy is always there.. Open Question: Could my knee pain be from growing?

I am 19 and 6'7, the knee pain started over the summer. I have been growing about an inch a year for the last 3 years. I also do a lot of physical activity...basketball, running, lifting weights. They really hurt when lifting weights(leg exercises) or I just went on a long bike ride/run or even from sitting with them bent for too long(like on a airplane or any event where I can't move around my legs). "Why thank you very much," he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he said "Let's take my short clip and go down this alley. We'll be there in no time." The little old lady looked him over cautiously then said, "I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me." "How do I know that when we receive in the alley you won't hold me up against the wall and have your way with me?" The biker said, "Holy smokes lady!?! I'm carrying a pail, an anvil, two chickens, and a goose. I am going to do my CBT and learn and stuff, decided! I dont no wether or not to keep up for a little while and receive a 125 (Cagiva/CBR/NSR), or wether to do the lessons on the instructors bike which they provide, then once i've passed buy a bigger bike, since sick be able to ride it with a full license. why this guy is not replying my message? ? I met this guy last week in a pub. we kissed that night n he got my number. we went on a date a few days ago. Everything seems fine. Open Question: What is the best motor scooter to buy for RELIABILITY and economy?

I'm just looking for an "around town" scooter with the possibility of a short road trip on rare occasion. I am NOT mechanically inclined nor am I wealthy so I am looking for a bike that would require as few repairs or as little maintenance as possible. Also hopefully something very good on gas as I'm sure the prices will sky-rocket eventually. I've been thinking about the 400 or 650 Suzuki Burgman but one review said they are a maintenance nightmare and terribly costly to have worked on. I'm also looking into Yamaha Majesty 400. I'm a larger guy (6'3" and 210lb) so I don't want too tiny of a scooter and I am shying away from actual motorcycles because most of my riding will be in town and I don't want to be shifting continually. Please help!
